Resolutions and Recommendations of the 6th Congress

After vigorously debating all issues concerning women raised, the Congress passed the following resolutions and recommendations.

Resolutions

  1. NUEW will focus more on the plight of poor rural women.
  2. NUEW supports the Ministry of Education's rapid transformation of the educational system, to ensure girl students' involvement in and access to education.
  3. The Congress believes that "a healthy woman means a healthy society". NUEW will, therefore, work hard in its cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders in reducing mortality and morbidity of women and children and the spread of killer diseases.
  4. The Union will support and advocate the political role women play and empower women to feel confident in that role and in themselves.
  5. In order to invite further wide participation of professional women inside the Union and outside, NUEW intends to organize women according to their profession.

    6. Recommendations

    1. The Congress calls upon the Government to continue affirmative action in order to encourage and increase women's participation in politics.
    2. The Congress calls upon all government sectors to refine and strengthen sectoral gender policy and follow up on its implementation.
    3. Strengthen women’s participation in the National Service, as it is a national obligation and plays a crucial role in self-development
    4. Reinforce pre-school programs for children and adult literacy programs.
