NUEW Rural Credit Program Revisited.
Economic empowerment of women is one of the objectives of NUEW. Rural Micro Credit Program of NUEW has been one of the areas NUEW has been venturing. National calamities like drought and man made crisis, like the war unleashed upon Eritrea has hampered the micro credit program of NUEW.
Recently NUEW has restarted the micro credit program in three zobas. This has been started by reviewing the program by a local consultant. Based on the study of the consultant and other related studies, the policy and institutional framework of the micro credit has been revisited by two senior staff of NUEW.
This has been shared in a five day workshop in Asmara. NUEW representatives of Debub, Maekel and Gash Barka and credidt officers of the three zobas participated in this workshop.
The training consisted of theoretical concepts of micro credit, different types of micro-credit, best practices of micro credit program, NUEW Rural Micro-Credit Policy and its application visa vie other experiences was dealt in detail.
