NUEW Members Abroad Support Devt. Efforts

Ms. Tsegga Gaim, head of Social Services & Rehabilitation Department, told the Eritrean News Agency (ENA) that members of the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) living abroad reaffirmed their commitment to actively participate in programs of national reconstruction and in foiling conspiracies against national security and unity. This commitment was made in a seminar attended by over 2000 representatives of NUEW in Europe, USA and Canada. In the seminar the Eritrean women abroad reviewed the activities accomplished in the last 2 years and discussed on the agenda of the oncoming 6th conference, which will be held at the beginning of the year 2003. As part of the Warsay Yikealo campaign the Eritrean women abroad pledged to raise funds of the establishment of training centers for women in different parts of the country. Accordingly establishment of the training center in Barentu, Adikeih, senafe, Massawa, and Nakfa will be sponsored by the NUEW of Germany, Sweden, Washington DC, New York and Los Angelos respectively while the training center in Keren will be undertaken by NUEW of San Jose, Oakland, and Santa Rosa.
