The Influence of Migration and The Challenges of Rehabilitation
The Eritrean heroines who had engaged in all kinds of liberation struggle for 30 years under the National Union of the Eritrean Women and 10 years before the organization’s establishment, are now celebrating the birth of the NUEW by evaluating the long journey they have passed through. In effect, they conducted workshops in different times across the country.
The Role of Women Workers in National Reconstruction
In continuation of the celebrations carried out to commemorate the 30th year of the inception of the National Union of Eritrean Women, a final workshop organized by NUEW conducted in Asmara, at Hager Media Hall, Ministry of Information. The workshop executed under the common theme “Our Youths, Our Guarantees!” and focused on “The Role of Women Workers in National Reconstruction”. In the workshop, 140 women and 80 men attendants foregathered from different corners of the country.
Healthy Women- Wholesome Society
In continuation to the previous workshops organized by the National Union of Eritrean Women to celebrate the 40 years of Eritrean women’s movement and 30th year of the naissance of the organization, the union set up a workshop from October 03-04, 2009 in Assab Port City to evaluate Women’s health conditions in regard with the whole society.
Empowering Women in Leadership- to Secure Equality
The organized struggle of Eritrean women has now to celebrate its 40th anniversary. However, the three fourth of this struggle was conducted under the protection of the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW). Therefore, the NUEW continued the assessment workshops on the conditions of women in different sectors in the past years. This workshop held under the theme “Our Youths Our Guarantees” in Keren, the Capital of Anseba region.

The National Union of Eritrea Women (NUEW) was emerged in 1979 with explicit objectives which generally stood for insuring gender equality by working on women’s rights. Since its establishment, NUEW has been struggling against all means of women discrimination and segregation. In addition to that, the union works to insure equal presence and participation of women in the social, political, and economical sectors.

Economic empowerment of women is one of the objectives of NUEW. Rural Micro Credit Program of NUEW has been one of the areas NUEW has been venturing. National calamities like drought and man made crisis, like the war unleashed upon Eritrea has hampered the micro credit program of NUEW.
Women’s Training Center in Barentu inaugurated
A women’s training center built in Barentu at a cost of 9 million Nakfa was inaugurated on Saturday 26 May 2007.
